The 1961–62 season stands as the greatest in the history of Dundee. Managed by Bob Shankly, Dundee won their only Scottish league title, finishing ahead of local rivals Dundee United. Built on attacking flair and strong organisation, the side featured stars such as Alan Gilzean and Bobby Cox. The title earned Dundee qualification for the European Cup, setting up their famous run to the semi-finals the following season. The 1961–62 campaign remains the defining high point in Dundee’s history and a landmark achievement in Scottish football.
