Kevin Hector was one of Derby County’s greatest ever forwards and a central figure in the club’s golden 1970s era. Signed from Bradford Park Avenue in 1966, he became a key player under Brian Clough and Peter Taylor, helping Derby win promotion in 1968–69 and First Division titles in 1971–72 and 1974–75. Derby credit him with a club-record 589 appearances across two spells, including 486 league games, and he scored 201 goals for the club, making him their second-highest scorer behind Steve Bloomer. Quick, intelligent, and a natural finisher, Hector remains one of the defining names in Derby history.
