Derby County’s 2024 promotion was the club’s return to the Championship after two seasons in League One. Paul Warne’s side secured automatic promotion on 27 April 2024 by beating Carlisle United 2–0 at Pride Park on the final day, finishing second behind Portsmouth. Derby ended the season with 92 points from 46 games, winning 28 matches, and their promotion was built on a strong run from late autumn into spring that pushed them firmly into the top two. It was an important moment for the club after administration and relegation in 2022, and it felt like a major step in restoring Derby to a more natural level.
