Gábor Király was a popular Crystal Palace goalkeeper from 2004 to 2007, remembered as much for his shot-stopping as for his trademark grey tracksuit bottoms. He joined from Hertha Berlin and became Palace’s first-choice keeper in the 2004–05 Premier League season, when he kept 10 league clean sheets. Across his Palace spell, the club says he made 111 appearances and kept 33 clean sheets. He is remembered as a cult hero rather than a long-serving legend, but his character, consistency and distinctive look made him one of the club’s most recognisable modern goalkeepers.
