Andy Johnson was one of Crystal Palace’s best modern strikers. He joined from Birmingham City in 2002 and became the focal point of Palace’s attack, scoring heavily in both the Championship and the Premier League. His biggest season was 2003–04, when he scored 32 goals in all competitions as Palace won promotion through the play-offs. He then scored 21 Premier League goals in 2004–05, making him the highest-scoring English player in the division that season, even though Palace were relegated. Palace’s official site describes him as a club legend; recent club coverage credits him with 85 goals in 160 games.
