Dougie Freedman is a major Crystal Palace figure as both a player and manager. As a striker, he had two spells at the club and scored 95 goals in 368 appearances, making him one of Palace’s most important modern forwards. He was especially known for scoring the winner in the 2004 First Division play-off final against West Ham, sending Palace to the Premier League. Later, as manager from 2011 to 2012, he helped steady the club during a difficult period. Because of his goals, loyalty, and connection with supporters, Freedman remains one of the most popular names in modern Palace history.
