Keith Houchen was a key figure in Coventry City’s greatest day, the 1987 FA Cup triumph. Signed in 1986, he spent only a short time at Highfield Road, but his place in club history was secured by that cup run and especially by one unforgettable goal. He scored five times on Coventry’s way to Wembley, including against Manchester United, Sheffield Wednesday, and Leeds United, before netting the famous diving header in the final against Tottenham. Coventry won 3–2 after extra time, and Houchen’s equaliser was later named BBC Goal of the Season. He remains one of the most iconic one-moment heroes in Coventry history.
