Dion Dublin was one of Coventry City’s best Premier League-era forwards and the team’s main attacking force in the mid-1990s. Signed from Manchester United in 1994, he scored 61 league goals in 145 league appearances for Coventry, and 72 in all competitions, making him the club’s top scorer of the top-flight era. His peak season was 1997–98, when he scored 23 goals in all competitions, including 18 in the Premier League, enough to share the Golden Boot. Powerful in the air and sharp in the box, Dublin gave Coventry goals, presence, and real top-level quality during years when survival was usually the aim.
