Arjen Robben played for Chelsea from 2004–2007, signed from PSV as one of the first statement buys of the Abramovich era. Electric off the right (or left), he was all about explosive acceleration, one-v-one dribbling, and that trademark cut inside to shoot. Injuries often interrupted his rhythm, but when fit he was a match-winner—especially in Mourinho’s title teams. He helped Chelsea win two Premier League titles (2004–05, 2005–06), plus domestic cups, and was named PFA Young Player of the Year (2004–05). He left for Real Madrid in 2007, having shown flashes of world-class brilliance at Stamford Bridge.
