Jozo Šimunović was a Croatian centre-back at Celtic from 2015 to 2020, making around 75 league appearances and scoring five goals. Physically strong and good in the air, he offered defensive agility and aerial dominance in Celtic’s back line. His time at Parkhead was marred by injuries, limiting consistency despite being part of the Brendan Rodgers era that won multiple Scottish titles and trebles. Simunović is remembered for key moments such as a emotional headed winner honoring club legend Billy McNeill and his combative defending against rivals. Though talented, injuries prevented him from fully realising his potential at Celtic.
