Martin O'Neill’s first Old Firm match in charge of Celtic F.C. is one of the most famous in the rivalry’s history. On 27 August 2000, just weeks after taking the job, O’Neill led Celtic to a stunning 6–2 win over Rangers at Celtic Park. The result ended Rangers’ long domestic dominance and instantly made O’Neill a hero among Celtic fans. Goals from Henrik Larsson (2), Chris Sutton, John Hartson, Alan Thompson and Eyal Berkovic announced a new era, setting the tone for Celtic’s revival under O’Neill.
