Alistair Johnston arrived from CF Montréal in January 2023 to replace Josip Juranović and quickly nailed down Celtic’s right-back role. A relentless presser and aggressive one-v-one defender, he also gives width with overlapping runs and cut-backs. He debuted in the 2–2 Old Firm draw at Ibrox, scored his first Celtic goal in a 5–1 win at St Mirren, and ended his first campaign with a domestic treble. By August 2025 he had 80 Celtic appearances and six goals. In November 2024 he signed a new deal running to 2029. He’s a crowd favourite for consistency, grit, and big-game composure too.
