Thomas “Tommy” Gravesen was Celtic’s wild-card midfielder, signed from Real Madrid in August 2006 under Gordon Strachan. He brought bite, chaos and occasional brilliance—charging into tackles, carrying the ball, and arriving late in the box. In his only full Celtic league season (2006–07) he played 22 league games and scored six goals, including a famous hat-trick away to St Mirren. He also scored in an early Old Firm win, briefly looking like a new hero. But he didn’t consistently fit Strachan’s structure, lost his spot, and the club parted company in 2008.
