Mikael Lustig became a Celtic cult hero not only for winning 16 trophies but also for his famous “police hat” celebration during Celtic's 5–0 win over Rangers in April 2018. After James Forrest scored Celtic's third goal, Lustig grabbed a police officer's hat from the touchline and wore it while celebrating with teammates in front of the Celtic support. The image quickly became one of the defining moments of Celtic's dominant era under Brendan Rodgers. Lustig later said the incident was completely spontaneous and “one of those crazy things you do on the spur of the moment.” He admitted he had to apologise afterwards, but the celebration only enhanced his legendary status among Celtic supporters. Many fans still regard the police hat moment as one of the most memorable and humorous Old Firm celebrations ever.
