Mark Fotheringham has a long-standing connection with Celtic F.C.. A product of the club’s youth academy, he made his first-team debut at just 16 years old and was, at the time, Celtic’s youngest-ever player. Although he made only a handful of senior appearances, he remained closely associated with the club. After a playing career that included spells across Scotland, England, Germany, Switzerland and Cyprus, Fotheringham moved into coaching, working in Germany, with Huddersfield Town A.F.C. as head coach, and in various assistant roles. He returned to Celtic as part of the coaching staff and has become a respected figure behind the scenes, praised by players and management for his coaching ability and influence. He is currently part of Martin O’Neill’s backroom team and is expected to remain at the club.
