The 1967 European Cup final is one of the most iconic moments in football history. Celtic defeated Inter Milan 2–1 in Lisbon, becoming the first British club to win Europe’s top trophy. Trailing to an early penalty, Celtic dominated the match with attacking, possession-based football. Goals from Tommy Gemmell and Stevie Chalmers completed the comeback. Managed by Jock Stein, the all-Scottish squad became known as the “Lisbon Lions.” The victory symbolised ambition, belief, and innovation, and remains the defining achievement in Celtic’s history and a landmark in European football.
