Tommy Burns is one of Celtic’s most beloved figures because he served the club as player, manager and coach. A homegrown midfielder, he played for Celtic from 1975–1989, making 353 league appearances and scoring 52 league goals, winning six league titles, four Scottish Cups and a League Cup. He returned as manager in 1994 and won the 1995 Scottish Cup, Celtic’s first trophy in six years. After leaving the manager’s job in 1997, he later came back in coaching/youth-development roles and is commemorated at Celtic Park.
