Bobo Baldé (Dianbobo Baldé) joined Celtic from Toulouse in July 2001 and quickly became a dominant, intimidating centre-back under Martin O’Neill—powerful in the air, aggressive in duels, and a big personality in the back line. He made 232 appearances for Celtic (161 league games) and scored key goals, including in an Old Firm Scottish Cup final. Fans voted him Celtic Player of the Year (2003) after standout form. His spell delivered major success—five league titles, two Scottish Cups and a League Cup—and he was part of the 2003 UEFA Cup run.
