Burnley’s 1914 FA Cup is one of the biggest moments in the club’s history because it remains their only FA Cup triumph. They beat Liverpool 1–0 in the final on 25 April 1914 at Crystal Palace, with Bert Freeman scoring the winning goal in the 58th minute. The match is also remembered because King George V attended, making it the first FA Cup final watched by a reigning monarch, and Burnley captain Tommy Boyle received the trophy from him. It was Burnley’s first major honour and a defining early peak in the club’s story.
