Jimmy Mann was a key Bristol City midfielder in the 1970s and early 1980s. Known for his passing, work rate and powerful shooting, he was part of Alan Dicks’ side during City’s First Division years. His most famous moment came in 1979, when he scored a spectacular long-range goal against Nottingham Forest. Mann gave City energy and quality in midfield alongside figures like Gerry Gow. He remained with the club through a difficult period, including relegation and financial problems, and is remembered as a loyal, talented Ashton Gate figure.
