Groß was one of Brighton’s most important modern players. He joined in 2017 as the club’s first signing ahead of their debut Premier League season and became central to their rise. Brighton’s official analysis credited him with the most goal involvements and shot-ending sequences of any Albion player across his first six seasons, underlining how influential he was creatively as well as technically. He left for Borussia Dortmund in August 2024 after 261 appearances and 32 goals for Brighton, before returning in January 2026. Intelligent, versatile and consistently productive, Groß is widely seen as one of Brighton’s best Premier League-era signings.
