Tommy Cook is one of Brighton’s most important historical figures. He remains the club’s record goalscorer with 123 goals, and Brighton’s official history also notes that he was the first Albion player to represent England, doing so in 1925. He starred for the club in the 1920s and is remembered as a true Sussex sporting hero rather than just a footballer. Brighton also highlight his unusual distinction of playing first-class cricket for Sussex CCC, making him one of the great dual-sport figures of his era. In Brighton terms, Cook stands as an early club legend and one of the defining names in Albion history.
