Jim Towers is one of the greatest figures in Brentford history and still the club’s record goalscorer. Brentford’s official history credits him with 163 goals in 282 appearances, including 153 league goals, a club record that still stands. He played in the 1950s and early 1960s and became famous as part of the “Terrible Twins” partnership with George Francis, one of the most prolific strike pairings the club has had. Towers also hit 37 goals in all competitions in 1958–59, one of the best single seasons in Brentford history. His legacy is simple: goals, consistency, and a lasting place at the top of the club’s scoring chart.
