Steve Fletcher is one of Bournemouth’s greatest-ever figures. A powerful centre-forward, he had two spells at the club and became their record appearance holder, playing more league games for Bournemouth than anyone else. He was central to the club across difficult lower-league years and memorable promotion campaigns, and fans especially remember his crucial goal against Grimsby in 2009, which helped keep Bournemouth in the Football League during a financial crisis. After retiring in 2013, he stayed closely tied to the club in coaching, scouting, and ambassadorial roles. For Bournemouth supporters, Fletcher represents loyalty, resilience, and the bridge between the club’s old struggles and modern rise.
