Thomas Tuchel had a short but strong Borussia Dortmund spell. He replaced Jürgen Klopp in 2015 and brought a more controlled, tactical style while still keeping Dortmund dangerous going forward. In his first season, BVB finished second in the Bundesliga and reached the Europa League quarter-finals, including a famous win at Tottenham. Dortmund then won the 2016–17 DFB-Pokal under Tuchel, giving him his main trophy at the club. He is generally remembered as an excellent coach tactically, but his time in Dortmund was also marked by tension off the pitch, and he left soon after the cup win.
