Marco Reus was the face of Borussia Dortmund for more than a decade. A Dortmund-born attacker, he returned to BVB in 2012 and played there until 2024, combining dribbling, acceleration, technique, and a strong eye for goal. He was often used as an attacking midfielder or wide forward and was central to Dortmund’s best modern teams, including the 2013 Champions League finalists. Dortmund say he spent 12 years with the first team, served five years as captain, and won two DFB-Pokals, lifting one as captain in 2021. More than trophies, Reus symbolised loyalty and identity for the club.
