Henrikh Mkhitaryan was an important Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder from 2013 to 2016. Signed from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013, he arrived for what was then reported as Dortmund’s record transfer fee and brought creativity, close control, intelligent movement, and strong end product. His first season was solid, but his best came in 2015/16 under Thomas Tuchel, when Bundesliga’s profile says he became one of the league’s standout creators and attackers. He helped Dortmund win the 2014 DFL-Supercup and was a major part of the side that reached the 2016 Europa League quarter-finals. He is remembered as one of BVB’s most technically refined modern playmakers.
