Jens Lehmann was Borussia Dortmund’s first-choice goalkeeper from 1999 to 2003 and a major part of their 2001–02 Bundesliga title win. He brought strong reflexes, authority, and a slightly chaotic edge that made him memorable as well as effective. Dortmund relied on him for big saves and personality, even if he could be volatile. Reliable career records list 129 Bundesliga appearances for BVB, and official German football records credit him with that 2001–02 championship. He also helped Dortmund reach the 2001–02 UEFA Cup final before leaving for Arsenal in 2003. He was not a long-term icon like Reus, but he was a big figure in an important era.
