Shinji Kagawa was one of Borussia Dortmund’s smartest and most stylish midfielders. He joined from Cerezo Osaka in 2010 and became a key part of Jürgen Klopp’s exciting young side, bringing close control, quick combinations, movement between the lines, and calm finishing. In his first spell, he helped Dortmund win back-to-back Bundesliga titles and the 2011–12 DFB-Pokal. He later returned for a second spell, which strengthened his bond with the club. Borussia Dortmund and Bundesliga sources note he played 216 competitive matches for BVB, scoring 60 goals, and remains one of the club’s most loved modern international players.
