Kevin Hunt was one of the key leaders in Bohemians’ modern revival. The English midfielder joined Bohs in late 1998, quickly became club captain, and helped drive the team from relegation trouble to major success. He led Bohemians to the 2000–01 League of Ireland and FAI Cup double, then captained them to another league title in 2002–03. Individually, he was named League of Ireland Player of the Year in 2003. Hunt made 282 league appearances for Bohs and 364 appearances overall, scoring 22 goals before retiring in 2008. In simple terms, he was the tough, influential heartbeat of one of Bohs’ strongest modern sides.
