Roddy Collins is one of the most controversial but successful modern figures in Bohemians history. A former Bohs player, he returned as manager in 1998 and eventually led the club into a major revival. After steering them away from relegation danger in his first season, he built the side that won the 2000–01 League of Ireland and FAI Cup double, Bohs’ first league title in 23 years and their first double in 73 years. That achievement alone secures his place in club history. His legacy is more complicated because his exit was bitter, but in football terms his Bohemians spell was transformative.
