Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton formed Blackburn Rovers’ iconic “SAS” strike partnership in the mid-1990s, one of the Premier League’s most lethal duos. Sutton’s movement, link-up play, and aerial strength complemented Shearer’s ruthless finishing and penalty-box dominance. Under Kenny Dalglish, Blackburn played direct and aggressive, using early crosses and quick service to keep defences under constant pressure. Their peak came in 1994–95, when Shearer scored 34 league goals and Blackburn won the Premier League title. The pair’s chemistry turned Ewood Park into a nightmare for opponents and remains a gold-standard example of classic two-striker football.
