Alan Shearer’s Blackburn Rovers years (1992–1996) turned him into a Premier League icon. Signed for a British-record fee from Southampton, he instantly became the focal point of Kenny Dalglish’s side—powerful, direct, lethal in the box. After finishing runners-up in 1993–94, Blackburn went one better in 1994–95, winning the Premier League with Shearer scoring 34 league goals in a classic strike partnership with Chris Sutton (“SAS”). He followed it with another huge season in 1995–96, again finishing as the league’s top scorer, before returning home to Newcastle.
