Barry Fry is remembered at Birmingham City as one of the club’s most colourful modern managers. He took over in December 1993 and stayed until May 1996, bringing a chaotic-but-effective energy to St Andrew’s. In 1994–95 he delivered a brilliant double: Blues won the Second Division title (promotion) and lifted the Football League Trophy at Wembley. The following season he led Birmingham to the League Cup semi-finals, but he was sacked after the club finished mid-table in Division One.
