Oliver Kahn was Bayern Munich’s defining goalkeeper of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Joining from Karlsruher SC in 1994, he became the emotional leader of the team, famous for intensity, authority, and a relentless will to win. Bayern’s Hall of Fame notes that he won eight Bundesliga titles, six DFB-Pokals, the 1996 UEFA Cup, the 2001 Champions League, and the 2001 Intercontinental Cup during his 14 years in Munich. He was especially iconic in the 2001 Champions League final, saving three penalties against Valencia. By the time he retired in 2008, “King Kahn” was firmly established as a Bayern legend.
