Gerd Müller was one of the greatest players in Bayern Munich history and the club’s ultimate penalty-box striker. Nicknamed “Der Bomber,” he scored at an extraordinary rate and helped transform Bayern into a European powerhouse in the late 1960s and 1970s. He won four Bundesliga titles, four DFB-Pokals, three straight European Cups, the Cup Winners’ Cup, and the Intercontinental Cup with Bayern. He remains the Bundesliga’s all-time top scorer with 365 goals, and Bayern still celebrate him as one of their defining legends. More than just a finisher, Müller set the standard for Bayern’s ruthless winning mentality.
