Bayern were 1–0 down at half-time, Pep Guardiola brought Lewandowski on for the second half, and he completely changed the match. He scored five times between the 51st and 60th minutes as Bayern won 5–1. Bayern later described it as an unforgettable display, and club coverage notes that it included the fastest Bundesliga hat-trick, plus five goals in just nine minutes. It turned a difficult game into a historic one almost instantly.
