Yaya Touré played for Barcelona from 2007 to 2010, evolving from a powerful, ball-carrying midfielder into a key tactical piece under Pep Guardiola. He was used mainly as a defensive midfielder, but also filled in at centre-back (notably in the 2009 Champions League run). At his best he offered physical dominance, press resistance, and surging carries that broke lines. Touré was part of the historic 2008–09 treble (La Liga, Copa del Rey, Champions League) and added further trophies in 2009–10 before leaving for Manchester City in 2010.
