Johan Cruyff’s Barcelona legacy is split into two eras that shaped the club’s identity. As a player (1973–1978), he transformed Barça’s style and belief, helping win La Liga in 1973–74 and becoming the symbol of a more daring, attacking Barcelona—highlighted by the famous 5–0 at the Bernabéu in 1974. As a coach (1988–1996), he built the “Dream Team,” embedding positional play and technical dominance, winning four straight La Liga titles (1991–1994) and delivering Barcelona’s first European Cup in 1992. His ideas became the club’s long-term blueprint.
