Bacary Sagna was Arsenal’s rock-solid right-back from 2007 to 2014: relentless, disciplined, and one of the Premier League’s best 1v1 defenders at his peak. He combined elite recovery pace with serious physicality, rarely getting beaten down the line, and he was excellent in the air for a full-back—often defending the far post like a centre-half. Going forward he kept it efficient: smart overlaps, honest crossing, and steady ball use rather than showboating. Sagna was named in the PFA Team of the Year twice (2007–08, 2010–11), underlining how highly rated he was. He left in 2014 after contract talks stalled, joining Manchester City, but remains widely respected by Arsenal fans for consistency and professionalism.
