Ray Parlour was Arsenal’s dependable, hard-running midfielder from 1992 to 2004, beloved as “The Romford Pele.” Not flashy, he excelled at timing, discipline, and big-game nerve, shuttling between box-to-box graft and smart wide support. Under Arsène Wenger he became a key cog in the double-winning sides, blending pressing, simple passing, and late runs into the area. Parlour won three Premier League titles (1998, 2002, 2004), four FA Cups, and played in the 2000 UEFA Cup final. His long-range goals and tireless consistency made him a cult hero at Highbury. He also set the tempo in midfield during the Invincibles run.
