Paul Merson was a talented, creative attacking midfielder who played for Arsenal from 1985 to 1997. Known for his flair, vision, and unpredictability, he was a key figure under managers George Graham and Bruce Rioch. Merson combined technical skill with work rate, contributing vital goals and assists. He helped Arsenal win two First Division titles (1989, 1991), the FA Cup and League Cup double (1993), and the European Cup Winners’ Cup (1994). Despite personal battles with addiction, his natural ability and football intelligence made him a fan favourite. Merson left Arsenal in 1997, cemented as a club legend and cult hero.
