Jens Lehmann was Arsenal’s intense, ultra-competitive No.1 from 2003 to 2008 (with a brief return in 2010), best known as the goalkeeper of the Invincibles. Commanding and vocal, he organised the back line, dominated his box, and played with a high-risk, front-foot style that suited Wenger’s teams. His peak European run came in 2005–06, when Arsenal set a Champions League record run of clean sheets and reached the final—though Lehmann’s red card against Barcelona became a defining, brutal moment. He won the Premier League (2003–04) and the FA Cup (2005), and remains remembered as brilliant, fiery, and completely unapologetic.
