Kieran Gibbs was Arsenal’s homegrown left-back from 2007 to 2017: quick, tidy on the ball, and at his best when overlapping to support attacks while staying disciplined defensively. He came through the academy, broke in behind Gaël Clichy, and later became first-choice for stretches, especially early in Wenger’s post-2013 rebuild. Injuries and competition—most notably Nacho Monreal—stopped him from fully locking the role down long-term, but he remained a trusted squad player and popular figure. Gibbs won two FA Cups (2014, 2015) and two Community Shields (2014, 2015) before moving to West Brom in 2017.
