Lee Dixon was Arsenal’s ultra-reliable right-back from 1988 to 2002, a key part of George Graham’s famous back four alongside Tony Adams, Steve Bould, and Nigel Winterburn. Calm under pressure and positionally excellent, he wasn’t about showy dribbles—he defended first, read danger early, and delivered accurate crosses when chances came. Dixon’s consistency helped Arsenal build a ruthless defensive identity, then he adapted smoothly into Arsène Wenger’s faster, more modern sides. He won four league titles (1989, 1991, 1998, 2002), three FA Cups (1993, 1998, 2002), the League Cup (1993), and the 1994 European Cup Winners’ Cup. A quiet leader, he set the standard for dependable full-back play.
