“Same old Alloa, always cheating” became famous after a viral video of a drunk Rangers fan singing it on a train in the early 2010s. The clip spread because of how absurd the target was: Alloa Athletic are a small, part-time side with no real reputation for controversy, so accusing them of “always cheating” was clearly ironic. The fan’s confident but slurred delivery made it instantly meme-worthy. The phrase then entered Scottish football culture as a running joke, often quoted online and at games as a symbol of self-aware, surreal fan humour.
