Arrigo Sacchi was the coach who helped redefine AC Milan and, in many ways, modern football. Milan’s official history credits him with one Scudetto, two European Cups, two European Super Cups, and two Intercontinental Cups during his first spell, while stressing how innovative his football was. What made Sacchi special was not just trophies. He pushed an aggressive, collective style built on pressing, zonal defending, a high line, and constant movement, which was unusual in Italy at the time. UEFA says he led Milan to back-to-back European Cups in 1988/89 and 1989/90, and his team is still widely treated as one of the greatest club sides ever.
