Alessio Romagnoli was AC Milan’s main centre-back for much of a difficult but transitional era. Signed in 2015, he was brought in to strengthen the defence and gradually became captain, valued for positioning, composure, left-footed distribution, and leadership rather than flashy defending. He stayed through several uneven seasons, which made him one of the few constants in the side, and he was still part of the squad that won the 2021–22 Serie A title before leaving that summer. Milan’s official season archives show his long presence across the 2015–16 through 2021–22 squads, underlining how central he was over those years.
