Nereo Rocco was one of the most important coaches in AC Milan history. Milan’s official history places him among the managers who built the club’s early European greatness, and the club’s 1961–62 Scudetto page says he arrived with a huge personality, strong drive, and a special ability to connect with players. He is most famous for leading Milan to the 1963 European Cup, the first time an Italian club won the trophy, and then to another European Cup in 1969. Across his Milan years, he also won two Serie A titles, two Cup Winners’ Cups, and other major honours. Rocco is remembered for pragmatic, disciplined football, his link with Gianni Rivera, and the status of “El Paròn” as one of the club’s foundational legends.
