Frank Rijkaard was one of AC Milan’s key players in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Milan’s official legends profile says he joined in 1988 and, alongside Ruud Gullit and Marco van Basten, formed the famous Dutch trio that helped define Arrigo Sacchi’s great side. He brought power, tactical intelligence, composure, and versatility, able to dominate in midfield or defence. With Milan, he won two European Cups/Champions Leagues, two Intercontinental Cups, two European Super Cups, and two Serie A titles, becoming a central figure in one of the club’s greatest eras. He is remembered as the balance player who gave that brilliant Milan team control and authority.
